I just signed up to do 4H because I love chickens. 4H is a fun project where you can enter any farm animal into fair and show it off. But it's not just about your showy animal, you have to learn and study things about your animal. In the different animal groups, there are different expectations. For poultry which is what I am signed up for, you have to study chickens, ducks, geese, peafowl, turkeys, doves, pigeons, and quail. You are also scored on your behavior towards your animal and it's behavior towards you. You have to prove that you know how to handle your animal, if your unsure about your animal or nervous then you don't get good scoring. You can sign up for different 4H groups for example mine is canby scratchers. The groups have a meeting once a month for info and fun projects. When spring fling or the county fair comes around, the groups meet every week to get prepared for the big events coming up. I love 4H and I am so excited for spring fling, it will be my first fair I get to show in. I show Quail Antwerp Belgians and they are the sweetest birds I have ever had. They are fast learners and are very curious and they are good with people when they get to know them. I love their fluffy cheeks and and their and their cute little clucking noises they make when they are happy. I also like how many colors they can come in, there are over thirty different types and they are so flashy! I feel like they are my kind of bird, I love everthing about them and I don't really like any other birds as much as I like these. I have three little Belgians and I love them so much!
